"I can't express and say this enough: this production would not have happened, nor would it have had such a huge production value had you not taken a chance on me. Your love of the arts and your willingness to not only help but to massively contribute and elevate made all the difference. Everyone has been singing your praises and saying what an amazing and special time the shoot days in Tamworth were." Director Adam Kirkey, Greed & Gore

"As an artist and curator from Kingston, Tamworth Central has been a wonderful resource and collaborator for me on various projects. I have engaged with the organization as a place for intensive and focused production, developing writing and video projects in the comfortable study of their suite. I have also brought other collaborators to Tamworth with me to do video shoots along the Salmon River, with the beautiful and dynamic landscape providing a constant source of inspiration. Mostly recently, in Summer 2024, I designed and implemented an experimental artist residency at Tamworth Central called Something Happened, with practitioners and scholars from Queen’s and Carleton University coming to the town over the course of a month. For this specfic project, we were also given access to Tamworth Central’s spacious barn as our open and shared studio, as well as Carolyn’s many scavenged and recyclable industrial materials, which allowed us to transform the space into a makeshift cinema. In this project, my collaborators were able to engage more directly with the town of Tamworth itself, with Carolyn organizing a community event for the local residents, where we were able to exchange ideas about the project with a generous, curious, and insightful group. The experience of the residency has left a lasting impact on the practices and thinking of those involved, and has led to new insights and methods that we are all continuing to pursue. Carolyn and Jake are making Tamworth into an exciting place to grow ideas, by taking a holistic approach to their organizational design that blends reflection, ideation, production, and public-making. But most of all, it is the town itself, with its lush surrounding landscape and its kind and creative residents, which makes Tamworth Central so special. I certainly hope to return for future initiatives, and to continue to think alongside of this unique place."

"I was afforded the incredible gift of an artistic residency at Tamworth Central during the summer of 2024. As an online Expressive Arts Therapist I am able to take my practice with me on the road, and often need to escape the city. At Tamworth Central I was able to completely focus on my practice, create beautiful content and complete a significant writing project I hope to have published and available within the next few months.
Tamworth Central is a beautiful space to create, breathe and imagine in. Moving from the studio space to the workshop to the warmth of the bright kitchen was such a joy. Everything necessary for a creative headspace was provided. And with easy access to rivers, lakes and forests I truly felt like I was able to reset my nervous system, and approach the work I wanted to do with excitement.
Carolyn is a truly wonderful host and mentor. Her expertise and knowledge of materials, high attention to detail and wonderfully open and curious mind made for conversations that were enriching, inspiring and truly collaborative.
I am incredibly grateful for my time there and cannot recommend this space enough to those searching for the centre of their creative selves." Celina Lucarelli
